Comments
NOTE: NY4Free has not been accessible for quite a while. Although there has been no official announcement, it seems like they have shut down their free ISP service.
NY4Free dialup connections are slow, since they are limited to a maximum 33.6k dialup speed. Although no advertising banners is a big plus, 56k speed connections have been the
standard for a while. Also, the only dialup access number is in New York City, and they do not offer free isp access anywhere else. Users report that it is nearly impossible to
connect since the lines are constantly busy.
Another problem, is that you cannot instantly register as you can with other free internet service providers. Instead, they promise that your account will be ready within 24 hours
and they will email you the configuration info at that time. However it often takes much longer, and many users that registered recently never received their account information.
NY4Free and Redgoose appear to be the same company, since each offers identical free internet service. The only thing different is their names and the
address of their websites.
